MDECA E-Mail Accounts
VMS Account
This is the most common type of account. It permits interactive
logins using a text terminal or terminal emulator (via TELNET or
other connection). It is the type of account used if you are a user
of USPS, USAS, SIS, EMIS, etc. In regards to email, it is also the
most flexible. A user with a VMS account may login interactively and
use VMS Mail, PMDF Mail or PINE. They may also use either POP or
IMAP with a mail client (such as Netscape, MS Outlook, Eudora, etc.)
to read and send mail.
Clicking on the above link will open up the PMDF user guide,
which contains information primarily of interest to users
who have a "text based" terminal and use either PMDF Mail or PINE.
It contains detailed information about the interactive use of these mail
utilities. If you are using POP or IMAP, then see the documentation
included with your mail client.
