By default, internet web access provided by MDECA is filtered using a proxy server.  This applies to workstations within school buildings serviced by MDECA.   However, access to web sites within the MDECA wide area network need not be filtered.  Configuring your web browser to bypass the proxy server for local web sites can improve access speed.  Do the following steps to bypass the proxy server when accessing Progress Book.

From within your Internet Explorer browser window

(1) Tools / Internet Options / Connections / LAN Settings

checkmark the box "Bypass proxy server for local addresses"

(2) Click the "Advanced" button

(3) Within the box "Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:" type the following:

pb1.mdeca.org;;dsl2.secure.mdeca.org;secure.mdeca.org;www.mdeca.org

(If you regularly access  any other web sites within the MDECA network, you would want to add them within this exception box.)

(4) Click "OK" box
