The Elementary Scheduling Workshop will instruct the Experienced User how to update course records, group records, and class master records. The class will include time for data entry into your LIVE SIS data. To update your scheduling records you need to know what teachers will be teaching what courses for the upcoming school year. Attendance training will provide instruction in the basic set up of
tables and parameters that are used in attendance; how to generate absence
history records using batch job B115; how to enter and maintain daily
attendance; how to generate attendance collection sheets; how to set up and
generate attendance letters; and how to generate attendance reports for printing
and analysis.

New User Counselor training is designed for new counselors who have not attended any previous Scheduling or COHI/transcript training. Topics covered in this class include how to process intra-district student transfers; how to use the on-line scheduler; how to print schedules, class lists and transcripts; and how to display, add or change student course history. Prerequisite: New User Registration Training

Fees Accounting System tracks assessment and payment of general, course, and miscellaneous student fees. Fees training will provide instruction in the basic set up of tables and parameters that are used for Fees; how to generate fees using batch job B125; maintenance, daily activity and processing of the FEES screen (post payments, refunds, waivers, etc.); and how to generate fees reports for printing and analysis. Prerequisite: New User Registration Training

New User Interim and Grade Reporting will instruct the user in the steps involved to generate interim letters and report cards. The training will include setting up parameters used for interims and grade reporting; how to calculate absence history to print on report cards; how to manually enter student's grades; how to update interim letter text; how to set up an interim letter and report card formatter; and how to generate reports for printing and analysis. There will also be hands-on practice using MDECA test accounts. Prerequisite: New User Registration Training

New User Registration training is required prior to attending
most modules of SIS training. Prerequisites are noted in the
course descriptions.
New User Registration will provide hands-on practice
of basic SIS procedures such as: how to log-in;
use of SIS function keys; navigating through the menus; use of command
functions; and how to search for a student by name and ID. There
will also be a review of the student demographic screen (STUD) field values;
instruction on how to process admissions and withdrawals; use of CONT,
PADR, MEMB/MEMS screens; and generating reports and printing from MGMT screen.

Training for the DISCIPLINE package will instruct the user how to access the DISC program outside of SIS; how to code each discipline element that is required to be reported in EMIS; and how to generate discipline reports. The class will include time for hands-on training using test accounts in the DISC package. Prerequisite: New User Registration Training

SIS/EMIS Open Lab is designed to give users the opportunity to work on SIS and/or EMIS data with MDECA support staff on hand to assist you. MDECA support staff will be available to answer your questions, provide individual attention, teach you something new, provide an interruption-free work environment, and share ideas. Users create the agenda for SIS/EMIS Open Lab by telling us what your needs are when you register. When you call to register be prepared to tell us what time you will be here and what SIS/EMIS items you need assistance with so that we can ensure that MDECA support staff will be available.
